Sunday November 12th 2023 - Pratt Falls Park Trails - Pratt Falls park (Near Manlius NY) - About 2.5 miles, some elevation gain

This park really blew past our expectations.  I expected a nice waterfall because there are obvious pictures of it but I figured it was merely a roadside attraction that takes 10 minutes to appreciate.  Surprisingly, this is an extensive county park that feels more like a mid-tier state park.  There are multiple trails, multiple picnic shelters, a lodge suitable for weddings and other events and the entire facility is very groomed and stately.

We walked from the gate (not sure why it was closed) down the access road across the top of the falls (on paved roads) then followed the falls trail to the bottom of the cascade and then the vaguely mentioned ‘blue trail’ which looped around high above the creek’s gorge for a while before popping back up near where the falls trail started.  There is another trail ‘the Woods trail’ which we didn’t visit yet because though both parks were small, this park’s trails were moderately challenging and it was getting to be lunch time.

So we have another reason to return to Pratt’s Falls, a park I suspect our friends probably haven’t heard off or been to but probably should.
