2018 - Hike 17 - May 12 - Parvin State Park (NJ)

Parvin State Park

Green, Orange and Blue trails

Posted by Chris 5/15/18

Basics:
Length - ~ 4 miles
Elevation gain - Almost nothing
Nearest city - Vineland, NJ
Difficulty - Easy

The day:
The local weather was not encouraging at all and it was supposed to be worse as the afternoon went on so I looked around and figured out that going South was the best chance at avoiding the worst of the weather and neither of us had been to Vineland so off we went.

The hike was not that interesting overall.  The park is poorly maintained and the park office person recommended avoiding two of the outer loops because they are overgrown.  The NJ Hikes book also mentioned that those outer trails can be overgrown.  That said, the walk was otherwise satisfactory.  It was not very busy and we enjoyed being someplace new.
